Videographer Awards, Communicator Awards, and Telly Awards

Winners of the 25th annual Videographer Awards
The Videographer Awards are a prestigious international awards competition honoring video production talent. The competition is judged by a panel of communication professionals who have extensive experience and a proven record of excellence. This year’s winners were selected by a panel of professionals who chose the winning entries based on their creative vision, professionalism, and ability to communicate effectively. Winners are recognized on the Videographer website and in the Call for Entries brochure, which is distributed to tens of thousands of communication professionals. Winning an award provides a high-impact, inexpensive way to distinguish your work and attract prospects to your firm.
The Videographer Awards honor excellence in television news, programming, and production. This is the oldest and most respected award program in the video industry. Winners are honored at both national and regional levels. The competition recognizes exceptional artists in their own environments and is held annually in October. For the past 25 years, the Videographer Awards have been the most coveted awards for video professionals. This year, the award ceremony honored the production team for its documentary, “Saving Lives of the Poor,” which was produced by Tim Yoder, who is a videographer and co-writer at RSU Public Television. He was assisted by Bryan Crain, Jessica Blythe-Ammons, and Kevin Hoffman in lighting and sound.
Another ASC Award winner is filmmaker Erik Messerschmidt. His black and white camera work on the feature film Mank won him the Feature Film award. Erik Messerschmidt presented the Feature Film award. He also won the black-and-white camerawork award for “The Other Side of the Mountain.”
Other winners of the 25th annual Videographer Award include Jon Joffin, the director of Motherland: Fort Salem, and Andrew Slater, the editor of the acclaimed documentary ‘Black Mirror’. Presented by the ASC Local 600, the ASC and ICG honored the talents of video professionals. This year’s ASC award winners include many video professionals who are revolutionizing the industry.
Winners of the Telly Awards
A yearlong series honoring video excellence and innovation in all genres, the Telly Awards recognize outstanding video content from all over the world. In 2017, the organization recognized the innovative work of CBS Interactive as the Telly Company of the Year, recognizing its pioneering role in creating inspiring and insightful video content. Some of the company’s notable achievements include: The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, 60 Minutes Overtime on CBS News, and branded content for Oculus Quest, Google, and others.
The Telly Awards recognize excellence in video production for television and the web. This year, over 12,000 entries were submitted from all 50 states and five continents. A panel of judges, made up of advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks, select the winners. Many companies and agencies are involved in the program, and the competition attracts top talent from the entire industry. Several organizations, including Ghetto Film School and We Are Parable, also sponsor the Telly Awards.
Building Alaska is continuing its run on the DIY Network, and is now the second-highest rated show for men 25-54. The series follows three builders in remote and challenging environments. Buccaneers & Bones is another critical success, starring a prominent cast of conservationists, anglers, and fisheries. The series also highlights Bonefish & Tarpon Trust research projects.
The 42nd Annual Telly Awards also recognized an impressive amount of creative work. Viewstream won eleven Telly Awards in total, including four Silver and four Bronze. The company now has four Bronze Telly Awards for 2021, one for each of its award categories. In addition to their Telly Awards, they also received numerous accolades for their work in film and video production. They were recognized for their work with Adobe Target, Scholastic Learning, and the Vistage Executive Summit.
Winners of the Communicator Awards
The 27th annual Communicator Awards for videography have just been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. A team from Advance Media New York won an Award of Excellence for two videos they made. One was for local Syracuse business Roma Tile & Marble, while the other was for the nonprofit BABY B.A.C.K. INC. Both videos garnered nearly 20 New York State Creative Awards and won the John J. Evans Award for Advertising Excellence.
In addition to their videos, Jacquari Harris, the founder of JMG, was named an Award of Distinction in the category of online video. Her award-winning videos feature celebrities such as Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Alan Powell, and many others. Harris is also currently working on a film called Shooting Heroin, which follows Adam Powell and Edward Hilton-Jacobs as they navigate the opioid epidemic in Whispering Pines, Pennsylvania.
Winners of the John J. Evans Award for Advertising Excellence
The New York Press’ advertising department was recently honored with two awards, one for their work on a national ad campaign and the other for its advertising excellence. These awards, given by the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association, honor the work of newspapers that excel in many areas. The winning work was recognized as “Newspaper of the Year” and also garnered first-place awards in the categories of online infographic, large-space advertisement, and advertising campaign. The winners of the John J. Evans Award for Advertising Excellence were also crowned the “Excellent Print Campaign” and “Advertising Campaign of the Year.”
